If you're looking for the perfect tea-time companion, try our revolutionary banana walnut tea cake so you can go a little nuts over something so simple and elegant that makes life a whole lot sweeter.

One of the earliest tea cakes were the Edenton Tea Party Cakes. They were served in Edenton, North Carolina, in 1774 by a group of women who were protesting the British tax on imported tea. So like our banana walnut tea cake, they too baked these revolutionary little cakes, but they didn’t sip British tea that day.
